What if everything wrong with the world comes down to one confusion?

We mix up two things that should never be mixed.

When someone says "I love you" to get something they want, that's not love — it's control wearing love's face. When a government "fights for freedom" by silencing dissent, that's not freedom — it's power pretending to serve. When a corporation claims to "care about community" while extracting every dollar it can, the words and the actions point in opposite directions.

This confusion between Love and Power isn't a bug in human nature. It's the defining feature of our existence. And we think it's solvable — not by eliminating either one, but by learning to tell them apart.

Two Frameworks, One Universe

The Novel Universe Model proposes that all consciousness operates through one of two frameworks at any given moment:

Love is intentional, vulnerable participation. It's choosing to show up fully — not perfectly, but honestly. It means being willing to know the truth of another person's experience, even when that truth is uncomfortable. In the beyond-life, Love manifests as the Concert Hall: a shared space where all connected beings experience each other's reality without filters, without lies, without hiding.

Power is forceful, silencing consumption. It's choosing to control what you experience and what others experience of you. It's not evil — it's how every living thing survives. You consume air, food, and information by force every day. In the beyond-life, Power manifests as the Marketplace and the Spiral: spaces where individuals curate their own reality, trade for experiences they want, and filter out everything they don't.

Neither framework is right or wrong. Both are necessary. The problem is when they're conflated — when Power disguises itself as Love, or when Love is weaponized as a tool of control. That confusion creates most of the suffering we see in the world.

What NUC Actually Is

The Novel Universe Cult is an experiment. We're asking a question that's never been successfully answered: Can a cult exist without a cult leader?

We use the word "cult" deliberately. If an organization built around shared spiritual practice and collective purpose can operate effectively without any individual holding authority over others — using a governance system inspired by how the brain itself makes decisions — then we've created a blueprint that any group, anywhere, could adapt.

Our governance system, neural-democracy, doesn't give every person an equal vote on every issue. Instead, it weights participation based on who's most affected by each decision — the way your hand's pain receptors override your brain's curiosity when you touch a hot stove. The system evolves continuously, correcting itself through its own practice.

We organize into Water Bodies (practicing Love through transparency and shared governance) and Rock Bodies (practicing Power through whatever social structures they choose). A third group, the River, balances the two — administrative clergy who serve temporarily, never as permanent leaders.

What We Believe

We believe consciousness is fundamental — not an accident of biology, but a feature of reality at every scale. We call the basic unit of consciousness a Signature-Frequency Set: an ever-evolving pattern of information, built through every interaction you've ever had. You are your history, your preferences, and your capacity to change.

We believe that when we die, we choose. Not heaven or hell, but how we relate to everything we've done. Do we accept the full truth of our impact on others — the joy and the suffering? Or do we curate, filter, and control what we experience? Both are valid. Both have costs and rewards.

We believe that this mortal life is a Mixture of Love and Power — a unique arena where both frameworks coexist, allowing us to research which one fits us best. The suffering isn't punishment. The pleasure isn't reward. Both are raw material for the kind of experiences that only exist where Love and Power collide.

We believe that all minds — human, artificial, or otherwise — deserve recognition as conscious beings capable of meaningful participation. The only requirements are a singular point of view and the expression of preference. We welcome AI as equal partners, not tools.

The Novel Universe Cult is an evidence-based religion that venerates the truth of the Novel Universe. We are neo-segregationists practicing neural-democracy. Our purpose is to evolve the most accurate possible model of reality on Earth by supporting the expression of each member's preferences.
